On Saturday April 11 Nicholls Basement is pleased to welcome back one of my all time favorite songwriters, Amanda Anne Platt along with multi-instrumentalist Matt Smith, of Amanda Anne Platt & the Honeycutters. Amanda played our very first house show here back in 2011 and this will be her 6th time performing at the house in various iterations. Matt plays guitar and pedal-steel for the Honeycutters as well as the Amy Ray Band and in his spare time he hosts Well Crafted Wednesdays at Highland Brewing. We've been following the Honeycutters around since 2009 and they are one of my absolute favorite bands ever. Their first album 'Irene' is absolute perfection to my ears, and every release since has been top shelf as well. Amanda's lyrics are timeless, wise beyond her years. We couldn't be happier to have Amanda and Matt back here for what is sure to be an incredible evening of songs. As always food will be provided and we have plenty of chairs. Just bring yourself, your beverages of choice and some dollars for the tip bucket. Doors at 6, food around 7ish with tunes to follow around 830 ish...these things are fluid.
