Mojo Stomp was Charlotte Blues Society's 2026 International Blues Challenge band winner and performed at the Southern Resonance Roots Festival.
Mojo Stomp is a trio formed in 2021, known for their raw blues rock sound and energetic live performances. Fronted by Chad Butler on guitar and vocals, whose gritty style was inspired by blues legends like John Lee Hooker, Junior Kimbrough, and Lightning Hopkins. The band blends deep blues roots with modern rock energy. Scott Stewart drives the rhythm with dynamic, high-energy drumming, while Jeremy Surratt anchors the groove on bass completing a rhythm section with roots in both rock and jazz.
Improvisation is the heart of Mojo Stomp shows, offering new twists and turns at every show. Their debut album, When The Dust Settles (April 2023), captures the same raw edge delivering an authentic blues rock experience.
