Confession Kids music blends the political and personal, reflective of their perspective on life. Quil and John Gray’s conversational lyrics make the songs feel casual yet urgent, and the tightness of the performance by the whole band will call into question what you think you know about folk punk.
The Housing Crisis is the electronic pop project that Atlanta producer and singer-songwriter Dylan O’Bryan has used as his moniker for the last five years.Dylan started writing his own songs as a college freshman at the start of the pandemic. At a time when collaboration was difficult, he became inspired by the work of artists such as The Microphones and Beck, who create full-sounding projects as solo artists. It became his mission to perform, record, and produce his songs himself, until his bedroom became more recording studio than bedroom. The Housing Crisis now draws songwriting inspiration from those like Jeff Tweedy and Panda Bear, and sonic inspiration from Spiritualized, Mid-Air Thief, and The Postal Service."
Yankee Roses is the principal songwriting outlet of George Geanuracos. Formed in 2008 in Miami, Florida as a minimalistic singer-songwriter project, through the years the sound has shifted into an urgent melange of folk, noise rock, Americana, and post-hardcore, meant to simultaneously evoke the imagistic, defiant essence of American protest music, and crash like a celestial chariot through your bedroom wall. The first full-band Yankee Roses LP, “Pluto In Scorpio,” is available on all streaming services now."
