Fust is an American alternative country band from Durham, North Carolina. 

The musical project — helmed by Duke Ph.D literature student Aaron Dowdy — includes collaborations with some of the state's most acclaimed young musicians.

Stereogum listed them with "The 40 Best New Bands of 2023" and said, "Fust filter heavy-hearted roots rock through an indie-rock lens with winsome, sometimes spectacular results. On this year’s Genevieve, with a supporting cast that includes North Carolina neighbors like Indigo de Souza and Jake Lenderman, Aaron Dowdy and friends inject good old-fashioned sad-eyed twang with widescreen splendor and literary flair. Bitter Calm is a band from Birmingham, AL. They make music that one would call “sad”, but much like the torrential rains that punctuate their lives, it’s a different kind of sad— less like a breakup at the dinner table and more like a breakup in the atmosphere. Deeply, loudly, profoundly sad.
