Johnny Utah is a six member rock band that was founded by Rob Jordan. As a native Atlantan, Rob began his music career more than 25 years ago with The Elvis Show which played to sold-out crowds at Smiths Olde bar and became a cornerstone of the Atlanta music scene. Big vocals and high energy are the hallmarks of Utah. Covering deep tracks in eclectic sets, they are full of swagger, unpredictability, and fun. With pedal steel and mandolin in their arsenal, crowds love their ability to transition on the fly between rock, folk, Americana, and outlaw style country and western music. Johnny Utah has performed throughout Atlanta at venues such as Smith's Olde Bar, Public House 28, and Park Tavern.
Led by unrepentant slackers and joined by ne’er do wells who somehow learned to play
instruments, The Higher Choir is a prominent fixture in Atlanta’s music scene, performing at various community events, concerts, and religious services. Their mission is to elevate spirits through music while fostering unity and connection within the community. The Higher Choir has managed to play shows all over the southeast as well as stops in the Bahamas, Miami and Jamaica. Somehow they lived through this. They have shared the stage with notable acts like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rusted Root, Blackberry Smoke and Joan Osborne to name just a few. They play an original mix of Dessert Psychedelia, Jam music, Southern Rock and Gospel. In addition to their live performances, The Higher Choir has released several acclaimed albums, each reflecting their evolving sound and artistic vision. Their current release “Getting High to make music to get high to” will be released in March. The band is celebrating with a performance at Smith’s Olde Bar on March 8th.
