Jess’ decade-long musical journey has weaved in and out of Christian spaces, mainstream circles, from house concerts to historic venues like the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, and from solo shows to sharing the stage with her heroes. Jess pulls from her expansive influences like an artist from a pallet, creating soundbite-sized masterpieces that set something ablaze in the hearts of her listeners.

Hello. I have been writing, recording, and performing music since 2004. For most of my twenties I led an indie-rock band called The Lonely Forest. We toured with bands like Death Cab For Cutie, played on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and were voted a "best new artist" on NPR, among other things.

I began releasing music under my own name in 2017. I have released six full length solo albums that vacillate between loud indie-rock and low-fi acoustic music. My next release, entitled “As Long As I Am In The Tent Of This Body I Will Make A Joyful Noise”, will be released in two parts via Anotherland Records. Part one will come out on October 3rd, 2025.

My live shows tend to be confessional, interactive experiences in which I perform alone on the guitar and piano and sometimes play with a loud band; I enjoy using the live format as a chance to tell bits and pieces of my story and connect with my audience. When I'm not making solo music I play/sing in multiple bands (Telephone Friends, Buffet), lead worship at a local church, and write "modern hymns" for a publishing company.

I currently live with my wife and two children in Anacortes, WA.
