The Housing Crisis is the baroque pop / electronic project that Atlanta producer and singer-songwriter Dylan O’Bryan has used as his moniker for the last four years. Dylan started writing his own songs as a college freshman at the start of the pandemic. At a time when collaboration was difficult, he became inspired by the work of artists such as The Microphones and Beck, who create full-sounding projects as solo artists. It became his mission to perform, record, and produce his songs himself, until his bedroom became more recording studio than bedroom. The Housing Crisis now draws songwriting inspiration from those like Jeff Tweedy and Panda Bear, and sonic inspiration from Spiritualized, Mid-Air Thief, and The Postal Service.
