Tickets: $22 in advance ($25 day of show)
When you think “Barbershop Quartet,” an image of the bumbling School Board in Meredith Wilson’s 1957 Broadway hit The Music Man might come to mind. The popular show inspired an award-winning musical film adaptation in 1962, and a Hugh Jackman revival on Broadway in 2022.
Now you can hear the songs live on stage at Red Clay in a cappella four-part harmony with Stone Mountain Chorus and its Barbershop Quartets! Stone Mountain Chorus is the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and has been keeping the venerable American art form of barbershop quartet singing alive for over four decades.
Enjoy an afternoon performance of songs you’ll know and love, such as “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “It’s You,’ and “Lida Rose.” Don’t miss out on the fun as con-man Harold Hill revs up the crowd over “Trouble…right here in River City!”
A portion of proceeds benefits the Atlanta charity FOCUS (Families of Children Under Stress) helping kids with difficult medical or developmental issues (focus-ga.org).
This show was supported in part by a generous Project Grant from the Gwinnett Creativity Fund.
