“Akpé” — from the Togolese language — means thank you.
Akpé Motion is a group of four musicians united by the desire to explore sonic color, to move beyond the codes that restrict music, and to create freedom through dialogue. For us, music is born from exchange — between cultures, between sounds, and between people.
We have shared the stage with artists from across the world — Kanak, Madagascan, African, Polynesian, Qatari, Mexican, and American musicians — and each meeting has been joyful, rich, and full of discovery.
Akpé Motion now brings this spirit to the world with “I Remember Miles” — a tour that celebrates dialogue between cultures while honoring the legacy of Miles Davis. Through sound, image, and silence, we invite audiences everywhere to join us on this journey.
Akpé Motion is more than music. It is dialogue. It is freedom. It is gratitude.
